Why study Physics?

Physics is the most basic of the natural sciences and contributes to many other disciplines. Physics graduates obtain a quite general base of knowledge and a set of skills and problem solving techniques (e.g. analytical methods) that allow them to quickly adapt to new challenges posed to them in many different fields.

Therefore, a large spectrum of careers are possible upon completing a bachelors degree in physics, ranging from high-tech industry (medical, optics, communication, micro and nano technology, software and environmental to name just a few) to research and teaching (gymnasien, Fachhochschulen, research institutes, academic careers) as well as finance, banking, consulting, insurances and so on.

Rather than being an a priori specializing discipline, it opens up numerous doors! And it can be great fun to discover the sometimes amazing and sometimes strange worlds of the macro and nano cosmos!
