  1. Schulpraktika an Gymnasien

    Um dem Mangel an Lehrpersonen auf der Sekundarstufe II, zurzeit in den Fächern Mathematik, Physik, Chemie, Wirtschaft, Informatik und Französisch, entgegenzuwirken, bieten die Gymnasien (BS, BL) Tutorate für Studierende der betreffenden Fächer im Masterstudium an. Die Studierenden erwerben hierfür Kreditpunkte.

  4. Farewell Symposium for Prof. Ueli Aebi
    A Farewell Symposium for Prof. Ueli Aebi will be held on January 26, 2012. All employees of the University of Basel are warmly invited to attend.
    The event will commence at 8.20 a.m. in Hörsaal 1 at the Pharmazentrum with a welcome address by Erich Nigg, Director of the Biozentrum, and Ed Constable, Vice Rector of Research at the University of Basel. This will be followed by lectures presented by internationally distinguished guest scientists including Nobel Laureates Prof. Günter Blobel (Rockefeller University) and Prof. Werner Arber (Biozentrum, University of Basel), Prof. Tom Pollard (Yale University), Prof. Wolfgang Baumeister (Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry), and Prof. Hans-Joachim Güntherodt (Swiss Nanoscience Institute, University of Basel).

    Der Emilie-Louise-Frey-Preis dient der Förderung junger Wissenschaftlerinnen und ist gestiftet von der Vereinigung Basler Universitätsdozentinnen und der Akademikerinnen-Vereinigung Basel. Rahel Heule erhält ihn für ihre hervorragende Masterarbeit "Operator control of a Heisenberg chain by locally acting on a single end qubit" im Fach Theoretische Physik, deren Ergebnisse bereits zu zwei Veröffentlichungen in renommierten internationalen Zeitschriften führten.

A co-inventor of the AFM and STM, Christoph Gerber (Swiss Nanoscience Institute SNI and Physics Department, Uni Basel) is among the 100 most cited physicists worldwide with a total of over 21,000 citations.
