Short Biography 

Jürg Jourdan studied Physics at the University of Basel from 1975 to 1981 with a diploma in experimental nuclear physics. In 1984 he received a PhD with his research entitled "p-d radiative capture and the He-3 D-state". From 1984 to 1988 he was Postdoc at the California Institute of Technology for research on nuclear structure physics with experiments carried out at the Standford linear accelerator and at the MIT electron accelerator. After being back in Basel he started studies on the neutron form factors with experiments at NIKHEF Amsterdam, MAMI Mainz, JLAB Newport News, and PSI Villigen. In 1990 he got the licence as reactor physicist and in 1996 the venia docendi in physics from the University of Basel.
